Welcome to the New V.O.L. Experience!

As a new Volunteer, you’ll participate in three phases leading up to and following the start of your first semester. Each phase provides you with the opportunity to prepare for your transition to UT.

The New V.O.L. Experience Spring 2021 process. Start here: Submit Registration. Phase 1: Virtual Advising. Phase 2: Online Pre-Orientation. Phase 3: Live the Experience. New Student Orientation

V – Virtual Advising

While registering for the New V.O.L. Experience (NVE), you will select a timeframe to meet virtually with your academic college and advisor prior to the start of classes. Your advisor will reach out to schedule an appointment and provide additional details. During your appointment, you will begin to map out a plan toward graduation, register for your first-semester classes, and learn about resources available to help you succeed in the classroom.

O – Online Pre-Orientation

UT’s online pre-orientation experience is your introduction to life at Rocky Top. There are six different sections that showcase topics crucial to your first year on campus and beyond. What’s more, the experience is customized to YOU, with options to learn more about a particular subject or office based on your interests and needs. Revisit the program as much as you want throughout your first year at UT.

L – Live the Experience @ Big Orange Welcome

Big Orange Welcome is a six-week experience, jam-packed with programs, sessions, and events geared toward providing you opportunities to engage, familiarize, and experience all that UT and our campus has to offer. Regardless of your major, interests, or goals there will be both required and optional components for you to experience.

Once you register for the New V.O.L. Experience, we will keep you updated and provide reminders every step of the way, so it’s important to check your email frequently. Click on each phase to the left to find out more details.
